History

 
The story of Danske Commodities starts in 2004 when CEO Henrik Østenkjær Lind founded the company. With his experience from his job at Energi Denmark, he starts to trade with electricity, with the very first trade being implemented on 1 November 2004. At this time, in addition to Henry Østenkjær Lind Danske Commodities only employed one additional employee.
 
Since the founding days the company has growen rapidily. The staff grew, and so did the need for larger offices. Danish Commodities moved from their original offices at Store Torv on to Sct. Clemens gade and on to their current offices at Ny Banegaardsgade, where Danish Commodities has been since September 2008.
 
Initially the priority was to act on the day ahead market, but as time went on there came additional business areas. In the summer of 2007 the intraday trading was commerence. In the last years business areas such as gas, financial trading, risk and portfolio management of companies and suppliers have been added to Danish Commodities' business areas. In addition
 
Today Danish Commodities consist of 28 employees, the company has just been awarded this years nationwide gazelle winner 2009.
